The NMHC is offering a Horse Rescue video. The video was made by the USRider Equestrian Motor Plan organization. It covers theory and demonstrations in how to respond to overturned trailers, animals in holes, pools or open sewers; barn fires; trailer wrecks; and animals loose on the highway. The video uses simulated situations to demonstrate how to tie up, pull, strap and lift large animals in different types of slings. In many accidents and disasters, animals without life-threatening injuries are injured forther or killed by the use of incorrect rescue techniques and most emergency responders do not have the training needed to rescue large animals safely. Experts in emergency rescue training from Clemson University are featured in the video. We hope that this video will benefit interested persons/organizations to enhance the awareness of emergency equine rescue issues. VHS version CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK. We're investigation getting DVD copies. Check back here after July 15, 2011. |
